Many in the disability sector hold suspicions and strong feelings about the work of the Welfare Working Group (WWG), and to understand these it is important to consider New Zealand’s current disability policy context and its history, and why language in the report such as the ‘fit notes’ (p.86) and ‘reassessment processes’ (p.70) causes alarm.
