The Fourth Assessment Report (AR4) by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(IPCC), released in four volumes during2007, provides a commanding summary of global knowledge about climate change. It covers the scientific basis of climate change, its potential impacts, and response options through adaptation, mitigation and their links with sustainable development (IPCC,2007a, b, c, d).
