Author Guidelines

We are currently seeking essays from VUW students to be included in a publication in 2015. We welcome submissions from students from any faculty although essays must be related to economics and finance. Submissions can be theoretically oriented or applied, or can address topics related to economic history, methodology, or public policy from an economics/finance perspective.

Essays will be judged by the editorial board, a representative of the RBNZ, and various other economics professionals. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your work to potential employers.

Work submitted must have received a minimum of A- and submission of an essay will imply that you give permission to verify the grade. While we expect most submissions will be course work, we encourage students to submit high quality work produced outside of the university (although the author must have the rights to submit the work). Furthermore, we encourage Master's and PhD students to submit summaries of their work. Summaries should meet the submission guidelines.

Submission Requirements

Submitted essays should:

  • have received at least an A- grade in a 300 level course or above
  • be between 2000 and 6000 words in length contain a short abstract of at most 100 words
  • include a cover page with the author's details including name, ID, e-mail address and phone number. The cover page should also include the year the work was produced and (if relevant) the course it was written for and the grade received
  • have any information identifying authors within the document removed
  • be original and properly referenced in the APA style (PDF, 375 KB)

Submissions can be sent to nzref@vuw.ac.nz. Submissions for publication are due by 1 November 2015.
