DOI:

This note profiles the backgrounds and careers of one particular group of people who work in industrial relations: full-time trade union officials. Personal characteristics, motivations for becoming involved in a union career, and union work histories are all documented. The data suggest that the labour market for union officials is in a state of considerable flux and in part this is attributed to the process of union restructuring.Downloads
