Author Biography

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson, anthropologist poet and writer, was until recently College Professor at Indiana University, Bloomington. He has undertaken anthropological fieldwork in Sierra Leone and Central Australia and has won numerous awards for his writing. His most recent works are Pieces of Music (1994) which merges autobiography and fiction, and an ethnographic work At Home in the World (1995) using narrative and poetic devices to chronicle the lives of a group of Warlpiri aboriginals in Central Australia. Michael Jackson's forthcoming book on Joe Pawelka is entitled A Man Against the World.
