Author Biography

John R. Martin

John R. Martin teaches public policy at Victoria University of Wellington. He was a public servant for 35 years. He has written about New Zealand public administration including A Profession of Statecraft? (1988), Public Wellington , New Zealand. Service and the Public Servant (1991) and has co-edited and co-authored (Boston et al) Reshaping the State: New Zealand's Bureaucratic Revolution (1991) and Public Management: The New Zealand Model. He is currently working on a history of the New Zealand Public Service 1945-84.
