The Export Meat Industry

This paper argues that the changes in the export meat indsutry do not equate with those encapsulated as the shift from mass production to flexible production. Farmers played a pivotal role in the traditional organisation of the industry. They are likely to retain considerable independence in the future. The influence of farmers across the export meat industry is decisive in the disparity between idealised models of industrial change and its actuality in the export meat industry.Downloads
