Employment Growth in the Service Sector

This paper examines the forcasts in relation to the actual growth in employment between 1986 and 1991, but to put the trends in historical context includes 1981 data. It also raises questions about how appropriate the current industry grouping are in terms of analysing changing jobs and ultimately changing skill requirements.
