This day serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of workplace safety and the human toll of workplace deaths.</p> <p>For this special edition, we warmly invite submissions from New Zealand and elsewhere exploring the impact of workplace deaths on workmates, whānau, family, friends, and wider communities.</p> <p>We seek original research articles, case studies, reflective essays, and reviews that address themes such as:</p> <ul> <li>The psychological and emotional impact of workplace fatalities on colleagues and communities.</li> <li>Case studies of community responses to workplace deaths.</li> <li>Strategies to support whānau, family, and friends of deceased workers.</li> <li>Broader societal and cultural implications of workplace fatalities.</li> <li>Policy or organisational interventions to mitigate the impacts of workplace deaths on affected groups.</li> <li>Significant recent legal decisions or landmark cases that have or are shaping workplace safety and accountability.</li> </ul> <p>Submissions should offer insights that contribute to the understanding and improvement of workplace health and safety practices, particularly in the context of loss and its aftermath.</p> <p><strong>Submission Guidelines:</strong></p> <p>Manuscripts should be submitted no later than <strong>24 February 2025</strong>.</p> <p>All submissions will undergo a peer-review process to ensure the highest quality of scholarship.</p> <p>Authors should adhere to the journal's submission guidelines, available on our website.</p> <ul> <li>Types of Submissions:</li> <li><strong>Research Papers </strong>Research papers report on recently gathered or analysed data from surveys, interviews, or experiments or that propose a new theory or model, supported by analysis and arguments. Indicative maximum length of 6,000 words plus references.</li> <li><strong>Review Papers </strong>Review papers provide a comprehensive or updated review of academic and reliable grey literature on a specific topic of interest to practitioners/professionals, or that give a new interpretation of that topic. Indicative maximum length of 6,000 words plus references.</li> <li><strong>Graduate Communications </strong>Graduate communications are short articles arising from the research of graduate or postgraduate health and safety students that provide an insight into a practice-related topic. Indicative length of 1,500 words for early work but a 6,000 words maximum plus references for substantial work.</li> <li><strong>Case Studies </strong>Case studies of incidents provide a description or analysis of one event, or a small number of similar events, to give deeper understanding of causal factors and consequences. Indicative maximum length of 6,000 words plus references.</li> <li><strong>Letters to the Editor </strong>Letters to the Editor provide an opportunity for readers to respond to published articles, raise new ideas, or share brief insights related to workplace health and safety.
