Abstract

This article indicates the GLAM (Gallery, Library, Archives and Museum) sectors are undergoing an evolution due to the introduction of Web 2.0. It touches on the trends preceding this evolution and discusses the possible future direction of the GLAM sectors and how they might influence the future work environments of GLAM professionals.

Suzanne Goss

Suzanne Goss has recently returned to New Zealand after five years overseas in Italy and Australia. She is a Masters student in Information Studies at the Victoria University of Wellington, Te Whare Wānanga o te
Ūpoko o te Ika a Māui, and an Archives Advisor in Advice and Compliance at Archives New Zealand. Her background in resource management also informs her main areas of interest: sustainability, systems thinking, developing Treaty of Waitangi partnerships beyond tokenism, and exploring strategy for the digital revolution.
