Author Biography

Manying Ip

Manying Ip ONZM, FRSNZ, FNZAH is Professor Emeritus at the School of Asian Studies, University of Auckland, New Zealand. Her research interest is on Chinese migration, race relations, racism, social cohesion and ethnic identity. Her current research is on the Internet and its influence on the Chinese diaspora and the sense of identity of the netizens. Her publications (monographs and edited volumes) include Transmigration and the New Chinese 2011, The Dragon and the Taniwha: Māori and Chinese in New Zealand 2009; and Being Māori-Chinese: Mixed Identities 2008.
