Abstract

This obituary for Thérèse Ann Angelo, the former Director of the Air Force Museum, notes Angelo's awards and her three-term Presidency of the Archives and Records Association of New Zealand. Also highlighted are her work transforming the Air Force Museum, and the challenges she faced as President with public sector reform under the Fourth National Government of New Zealand, which affected the National Archives and lead to conflict with ARANZ and others.

Author Biography

Brad Patterson, Victoria University of Wellington

Brad Patterson is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the Stout Research Centre for New Zealand Studies, Victoria University of Wellington. Formerly Director of the university’s Irish-Scottish Studies Programme, his current research interests include migration studies and the politicaleconomy of settler capitalism. His most recent book (edited with RichardHill and Kathryn Patterson) is After the Treaty: The Settler State, Race Relations and the Exercise of Power in Colonial New Zealand (2016). He was a founding member of ARANZ and is an Honorary Life Member.
