Abstract

In Aotearoa we have an incredibly vibrant comics community, rich with diversity. The Alexander Turnbull Library’s Cartoon and Comic Archive is one of the few archives in the world specialising in collecting cartoons and comics, playing a vital role in acknowledging the
importance of this medium both as an important historical record that has unique reflections of the worlds in which we live, and as a way of demonstrating a diverse range of voices and stories.
