This article discusses issues associated with cross-national studies, and implications for New Zealand of a selection of findings arising from initial exploration of the TIMSS data. These findings indicate some factors identified by TIMSS as amenable to change, and likely to lead to improved teaching and learning in mathematics and science.Downloads
