Author Guidelines

Papers are welcome from any discipline. They should have a New Zealand focus, or be comparative with a strong New Zealand element. All submissions go through a process of anonymous peer review. Intending authors are expected to adhere to the requirements of the Journal Style Guide: http://www.victoria.ac.nz/stout-centre/research/publications/JNZS-Style-Guide.pdf#JNZS%20Style%20Guide

Intending contributors should follow the preparation check list below, and submit the article through the online submission system.  Any correspondence should be addressed to the Administrator at stout-centre@vuw.ac.nz

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word; endnotes, not footnotes, should be used. The Journal follows the Chicago Manual of Style.

  3. The text is 1.5 spacing; uses a Times Roman 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

  4. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

  5. The author's name and contact details, plus title and 100 word abstract, are entered separately in the on-line submission process, along with a short biographical note on the author (approximately 30 words).
